The Novi Police Department will host a Civilian Pistol Safety Class from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10. The course fulfills both classroom and shooting requirements to get a Michigan Concealed Pistol License (CPL).

The class will be held at the Novi Police Department Training Center, 45125 W. 10 Mile Road. After lunch, participants will head to the Novi Firearms Training Center to finish the training.

To participate, you must be 21 years old. Register online or pick up a registration form at the Novi Police Department.

The course costs $200 and can be paid with cash or money order. All participants are subject to a criminal background check. Class size is limited.

Students must bring their own equipment, including a personal handgun, 100 rounds of ammunition, safety glasses, and shooter’s earmuffs or ear plugs.
