NOVI  VETERANS  RECOGNIZED  BY  LOCAL ROTARIANS

NOVI, MI, December 3, 2012----This past month, the Novi Rotary extended an invitation to veterans living at the Manor of Novi and Whitehall Healthcare Center to join the Novi Rotary’s weekly Thursday luncheon where they could be greeted with warm smile, a hot lunch, and a program dedicated to acknowledging the sacrifices they made for our country.

The Novi veterans were also provided an opportunity to share what branch they military they served in, and were then presented with a patriotic medallion donated by the Novi Chapter of the Michigan Paralyzed Veterans of America (MPVA).  The medallions featured each branch of military service and came with a detailed header card that explained that they represent “the tireless determination and uncommon courage of all those who serve.”  The medallion was offered to the veterans by Novi Rotary guest, and Milford Rotarian, Former Sergeant First Class Joseph Salvia of the Michigan Army National Guard, who thanked and saluted each veteran for their service.

“For us, every day is a day in which we should be taking time out to thank those who serve. We are grateful and proud that there are organizations like the Novi Rotary who make certain that they pay tribute to our fellow heroes,” expressed Executive Director, Michael Harris of the Michigan Paralyzed Veterans of America. 

Rotarians are business and professional leaders who take an active role in their communities while greatly enriching their personal and professional lives.
