11th Congressional Primary Results Likely Delayed by Write-ins

Novi voters may not learn who wins the Republican Congressional primary until sometime on Wednesday.

While election results will roll in later tonight for most races, Novi voters may have to wait a while to find out how candidates fared with locals.

The Detroit Free Press reported Sunday that write-in campaigns mounted by Nancy Cassis of Novi and Drexel Morton of Canton in the 11th Congressional District Republican primary could delay results reporting until well into Wednesday. Loren Bennett, a former state senator, has withdrawn his write-in candidacy and backs Cassis, the newspaper reported.

The only 11th Congressional Republican candidate on the ballot is Kerry Bentivolio, who has been sparring with Cassis over the past several weeks.

Congratulations to Kerry Bentivolio! Give it up Nancy - the voters told you loud and clear that we don't like your kind of politics!
