In case you missed CC's season to far, here's a recap:
Before the season started, hype started building around the varsity football team and some of its star players, including defensive lineman Matthew Godin. The senior will play at the University of Michigan in 2012 and said back in August that CC planned to win a state title this year.
The Shamrocks started the season off strong, beating Dearborn Fordson 42-0.
The boys then went on to defeat Delphos St. John's 14-7, Inkster 48-0, Highland Park 42-6, De La Salle 14-10, U of D Jesuit 20-13 and Brother Rice 21-19.
CC got its only loss of the season against Orchard Lake St. Mary's on Oct. 15. The team lost 14-13 after a missed point-after touchdown kick.
The Shamrocks redeemed themselves just one week later, beating St. Mary's 21-7 in the Prep Bowl.
This past Saturday, CC beat Rockford in a nail-biting overtime game to win the semifinals 23-20 and move on to the championships. CC's overall record is now 12-1.
Cass Tech has a record of 10-3 and beat Utica Eisenhower 6-3 this past Saturday to advance to the finals.
We'll all be cheering for CC this Saturday! Leave your well-wishes and predictions in the comments below, and you can share your pictures from the game by emailing them to firstname.lastname@example.org, uploading them to the site or texting them to 248-613-4338.
