Novi Businessman Plans to Develop Main Street

Victor Cassis, a Novi resident and business owner, plans to develop Novi's Main Street area to become a downtown destination, the Novi News reports.

According to the story, Cassis plans to develop 7.5 acres of land on Main Street and Novi Road, which he bought in December, into a "gathering place" for the Novi community.

“I believe when we start developing this you will see some energy come into the picture,” he said in the article. “And I believe this will be the anchor, and thus the dream of Main Street would be accomplished.”

The article states that Cassis has kept the purchase of the land under-wraps until a few weeks ago when he announced he would be stepping down from the Novi Planning Commission, which he served on for 10 years, in order to focus on the development.

Cassis told the Novi News that he hopes to present the plans to the City Council within a year and have the area developed within five years.
