3 File for Novi School Board Election

Current Board President Bruce Bagdady will not run for re-election.

Three candidates have filed to run for two seats on the Novi Board of Education in the Nov. 6 election. Candidates will run for a six-year term.

Tracey Cadwell, Brad Leidal and incumbent Dennis O'Connor have all filed to run as candidates. They have until Friday to withdraw their candidacies.

Current Board President Bruce Bagdady said he will not be running for a fourth term.

“It has been an honor and a privilege to serve as a school board member in Novi,” Bagdady said in a statement. “I am very proud of this district, its students, and its staff and administrators. We continue to exceed everyone’s expectations in student achievement. Novi Schools deserves its premier reputation as one of the best school districts in the state.”

Bagdady served for 14 years, and his three children with his wife, Carol, have all graduated Novi High School.

“I’ve really enjoyed my years of serving Novi parents, students and stakeholders,” Bagdady said.
