Weekend Planner: Concert, Storytime and Drive-In Movies

If you decided to stay in town this weekend, here are some things you can do. Be sure to share any photos of your weekend fun in our Summer photo gallery.

Outdoor Concert

  • Where: Downtown Northville
  • When: Friday 7 p.m.
  • Pricing: Free
  • Why Go: Bring your chair and listen to Sound Alternative play R&B, Motown and Funk tunes.

Compuware Drive-In

  • Where: Compuware Arena, Plymouth
  • When: Daily at dusk
  • Pricing: $9 for adults and $6 for children 4-12
  • Why Go: Great for a family or date night, view a double feature outside on the big screen. This weekend's showings are The Amazing Spider-Man followed by Men in Black on screen 1, Brave followed by The Avengers on screen 2, and Madagascar 3 followed by Battleship on screen 3. 

Novi Farmers' Market

  • Where: Fuerst Park
  • When: Saturday 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Pricing: Free
  • Why Go: Stop by the Farmers' Market for its season opening and enjoy live music while shopping for fresh produce and other items. 

Storytime at Barnes & Noble

  • Where: Barnes & Noble in Northville
  • When: Saturday 11 a.m.
  • Pricing: Free
  • Why Go: Join Ms. Suzze in the children's department for themed storytimes and fun, simple take-home crafts each week. Recommended for ages 3-6, but all are welcome.

Pool & Spa Show

  • Where: Suburban Collection Showplace
  • When: Friday & Saturday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Sunday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Pricing: Free
  • Why Go: If you're in the market for a hot tub, spa, gazebo or sauna, check out several options at this show.
