What's Your Race Story? Cipriano Benefit Draws 2,000+ to Farmington YMCA
The 5K Fun Run and Walk drew families and individuals touched by the tragic April 16 attack in the Cipriano family's home. Tell us, why did you run?
Bob Cipriano was killed and his wife, Rose, and 17-year-old son, Salvatore, were severely injured during the incident. Two Cipriano children, Tanner, 17, and Isabella, 8, were unharmed. The couple's oldest son, Tucker, was bound over for trial Friday on felony charges filed in connection with the murder and assaults.
The 5K Cipriano Classic Fun Run and Walk benefit turnout more than doubled organizers' expectations and jammed streets and parking lots in the 12 Mile and Farmington Road area well before the race's 7 p.m. start. The event raised more than $50,000 for the Cipriano Children's Trust Fund.
Were you among the walkers or runners? We'd like to know why you chose to participate and what you thought of the event. Share your Cipriano 5K story by posting a comment below or adding your photos or video to our gallery.
