Comic Con Craze Comes to Novi This Weekend

Comic lovers can feel the excitement when they visit Motor City Comic Con's website and see the ticker counting down to the start of the convention. Motor City Comic Con, Michigan’s original comic convention, celebrates its 24th anniversary Friday to Sunday at Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi. Attendees will be absorbed into comic culture when seeing and meeting comic icons, shopping for comic merchandise -- like comics, clothing and posters -- and checking out what's new in the artist alley. Novi's Anytime Fitness Nears 5 Month Anniversary

Anytime Fitness members can get a workout 24/7 365 days a year.  The gym opened its Novi location, 47980 Grand River Ave., in late December across from Providence Park Hospital and is owned by David and Karla Michael of Hartland.  The Novi Chamber of Commerce organized an official ribbon cutting Friday to recognize Anytime Fitness' place in Novi with the owners, store employees and community members. See video of the ribbon cutting above. Novi Bagger Dave's Celebrates Beer Week

Novi customers visiting Bagger Dave’s during the week of May 13 -19 will receive the free gift after a $25 or more purchase after 8:30 p.m.

Bagger Dave’s in Novi will be celebrating American Craft Beer Week next week with customers receiving a free pub glass. “Amazingly enough, the glass is reusable and will hold beverages other than American craft beer, too,” a Bagger Dave’s press release stated. “As if you’d ever want that to happen. Perfect Desserts Celebrates Its Place in Novi

After spending 30 years decorating cakes and pastries for friends, Debra Capaldi of New Hudson decided to open her own bakery. Perfect Desserts is a family owned business that offers cupcakes, special cake orders and other pastries. Capaldi and the bakery's patrons celebrated its official ribbon cutting Tuesday at the shop in Novi, 43448 West Oaks Drive.  The Novi Chamber of Commerce, which organized the ribbon cutting, recognized the bakery's place in Novi with Capaldi, her husband, Michael Capaldi, store employees and community members.
