Mutch files petitions for Novi City Council

City Council Member Andrew Mutch filed nominating petitions for the 2013 fall City Council election officially launching his efforts for a third term on the City Council.

On Friday, May 10th, Novi City Council Member Andrew Mutch filed nominating petitions for the 2013 fall City Council election officially launching his efforts for a third term on the City Council. Novi City Clerk Maryanne Cornelius verified Mutch’s petitions met the City Charter requirement for valid signatures from 100 registered voters, and his name will be on the November 5, 2013 ballot. “I especially appreciate the efforts of the Novi residents who circulated petitions. They got out and talked to their friends, family and neighbors in support of my candidacy. I am encouraged by the many expressions of confidence and support from those who signed. It was a great team effort!”

More than 130 voters from all areas of the city signed the petitions. "I appreciate their support,” Mutch said, “and I will continue to talk and meet with residents from across the community listening to their ideas and concerns, especially to ways we can make Novi an even better place to live – to have a home, raise a family or build a business.”

Mutch, first elected in 2005, is in his second Council term and is asking voters to support his commitment to serve another four years.  A life-long resident, Mutch previously served on the Planning Commission, the Library Board and the Housing and Community Development Advisory Committee.  A strong advocate for residents on a variety of quality of life issues, Mutch is an active member of the City Council’s Ordinance Review, Walkable Novi committee and previously served on the Capital Improvements Program committee. He also has served as the City’s representative to the Southeast Michigan Council of Governments and currently is a member of SEMCOG’s Budget and Finance Committee. Mutch and his wife Wendy live on Taft Road, in a historic home built in the 1920s.
