A Conversation on Equal Opportunity

The Michigan League for Public Policy and the Prosperity Coalition are hosting a great event on September 27th.  It’s a workshop called Changing the Conversation on Equal Opportunity: Talking About Race Right. We hope that you and some of your members can attend and spread the word.

Changing the Conversation is an interactive workshop featuring Maya Wiley, Founder and President of the Center for Social Inclusion. At the workshop participants will discuss policy strategies to transform structural inequity and exclusion into structural fairness and inclusion. Participants will also discuss Michigan-specific policy ideas and messages, while examining communications tools for an opportunity-rich world in which we all will thrive no matter our race or ethnicity.

The workshop is essential for any individual or organization that:
§  is interested in learning about recent state and federal policies affecting Michigan residents.
§  has a desire to learn the importance of talking about race and the role equity plays in their daily life and/or workplace.
§  wants to develop effective messages and strategies to build support for progressive policies benefiting communities of color.
