Annual Novi/Northville Relay for Life This Weekend

This is the only high-school run Relay For Life in the nation.

Novi High School and Northville High School's annual Relay For Life is Saturday. Relay For Life is an overnight, organized fundraising walk for the American Cancer Society.

Teams of people camp around a track and members of each team take turns walking. This is the only high-school run Relay For Life in the nation. 

Relay For Life is open to the public 10 a.m. - 10 p.m. at Total Sports in Wixom, 30990 South Wixom Road. The event begins with a cancer survivor lap and ceremony -- all cancer survivors and caregivers are welcome.

The Luminaria Ceremony begins at 10 p.m. when candles are lit inside of personalized bags and are placed around the Relay track to honor those who’ve been affected by cancer.

There will be food, activities and live entertainment throughout the day. There will also be Northville and Novi competitive middle school games at 8 p.m.
