Road to Close in Novi for Homecoming Parade

The Novi High School homecoming parade is 5 to 6 p.m. Friday.

Taft Road from Nine Mile to Eleven Mile roads will be closed from 5 to 6 p.m. Friday for the Novi High School homecoming parade.

According to Novi police, there will be alternate route signs posted.

The parade kicks off 5 p.m. from Parkview Elementary School, 45825 West Eleven Mile Road, and is followed by the homecoming football game 7 p.m. at Novi High School, 24062 Taft Road.

The theme for homecoming and the 2013-14 school year is "Superheroes."

Real-life heroes — veterans, armed service members, Red Cross workers, etc. — have been invited to walk in the parade. The message Novi High School wants to send is: "You don't have to wear a cape to be a hero!"
