Dancers, Singers, Performers Wanted for Novi Production

The Novi Civic Theatre is seeking dancers, singers and performers ages 18 and older to be a part of a one-of-a-kind, interactive comedy wedding production, according to a press release from the City of Novi.

The production’s colorful cast of characters will include a bride, groom, minister, parents, bridesmaids, groomsmen, and other guests. Actors will interact with audience members (in-character) and combine scripted performances with one-on-one and small-group improvisation. Auditions will be held Wednesday, April 10, from 7-9 p.m. at the Novi Civic Center, 45175 W. 10 Mile Road, between Taft and Novi Roads.

Prospective cast members should dress in something that allows comfortable movement. All who audition will be asked to read from the script and play some improv games. Singers should prepare a short segment of an 80’s song and bring a backing track CD to sing with. The audition will be conducted in a fun, light-hearted atmosphere.

If cast, rehearsals will be held weekdays at 7 p.m., two or three days a week. The show will be performed one night only – Saturday, June 1. It is recommended to pre-register for an audition time by calling 248-347-0400. Interested actors may also sign up online via cityofnovi.org. Walk-ins will be taken on a first come, first serve basis.
