Art Is In Market Celebrates Customers in Novi This Week

Art Is In Market will honor its loyal shoppers during a new customer appreciation night in Novi at Twelve Oaks Mall.

Art Is In Market is an art gallery, a Michigan store and a gift shop all in one. It showcases handmade work from artists throughout the state like jewelry, clothing, photography, books, Detroit sports memorabilia, pottery and paintings.

1. Save the date

Art Is In Market will celebrate its loyal shoppers in Novi this Thursday from 6 p.m to 8 p.m.

2. Where's the party?

The event will take place simultaneously at all three Art Is In Market locations, including in Novi at Twelve Oaks Mall, 27500 Novi Road.

3. What will happen?

Customers will meet and mingle with artists, watch demonstrations and enjoy complementary refreshments and desserts. Guests can also enter to win items from the gallery.

4. Sales to benefit charity

Also, 5 percent of sales from the evening will be donated to the William La Pratt Foundation, created to honor Bill La Pratt, one of the founders of Art Is In Market. La Pratt, who passed away in 2012, was an integral part of Art Is In Market, and a strong supporter of artists and the local community. He shared that passion with Debbie La Pratt, his wife, and cofounder and owner of Art Is In Market. The foundation was set up to receive and administer funds in his memory, bring awareness to the arts and advance spinal cord research.

5. Donate to help veterans

Art Is In Market will also launch a new program with artist Helen Hardmeyer, who will be present at the Twelve Oaks Mall location. Hardmeyer, a Navy veteran, makes and sells aprons under the moniker ‘Fiber McGlee’s Closet’ and donates her sales toward care packages for service men and women in the field.

Hardmeyer also makes quilts and donates them to the Ann Arbor VA Hospital. This year her goal is 1,500 quilts. Hardmeyer is looking for used fabric softener sheets and scrap materials of fabric including cotton, corduroy and fleece. There will be a small bin near her display at each Art Is In Market location for customers to leave materials for her quilts for veterans.
