View photos of the former Detroit Red Wing's house.

Former Red Wing Nicklas Lidstrom's house at 47725 Bellagio Drive in Novi has been sold, according to Realtor John Goodman.

The house, which was built in 2004, was listed for $2.9 million, but Goodman said the house was not sold for the full listing price.

The home had been on the market for 21 days, according to AOL Real Estate.

Goodman could not release the name of the person who bought the house, who he said made a cash offer and is filling out the paperwork Tuesday.

Goodman said the sale was the highest sale in Bellagio, but could not release the purchase price.

The house in Bellagio is 6,956 square feet and is in the . It has five bedrooms with five full bathrooms and three half-bathrooms. The house has a four-car attached garage, tennis court and wine cellar.

I think the house is ostentatious. If I could have anything out of it, it would be the wine. But alas, to each her own...

I'm really happy for Mr. Lidstrom.
I sure enjoyed watching him play he was not only a great player but a class act.Could there be a hint of jealousy in some comments?
Janet July 11, 2012 at 02:37 am
Commenter asks if there could be "a hint of jealousy in some comments." I can't speak to anybody else's intentions, but in all honesty this mansion isn't doing it for me, either. It's not that size doesn't matter, but some people seem to have a better knack of knowing what to do with it. The interior just appears dreary, a little timeworn, and uninspired.
Nothing personal against Mr. Lindstrom. My knowledge of hockey is nil. Other than recognizing the name I have no idea who he is, but I wish him all the best in his new home.

I think the house is to his taste.
All that dark wood some how makes me think of Sweden. He may have been trying to bring back memories of his home overseas. As for selling it, I guess he will be scouting in Sweden.
Janet July 11, 2012 at 08:13 pm
You're right, G-Money. The house must be to his taste. But generally speaking, Swedish decor is known for its light wood, clean lines, pastels, and white. It looks to me as if his decorating plan had some kind of Tudor influence, but just short of all the way to medieval.

Janet & G-Money.....Swedish Medieval ? ;)
Mary Ann Blakeley July 12, 2012 at 05:05 pm
Neighbor of Nick and Annika...I think this info is intrusive and tacky, shame on whoever leeked this to the public.
Mary Ann Blakeley July 12, 2012 at 05:13 pm
If you worked as hard as Nick, you are have earned the right to spend your hard earned money as you see fit.
G-Money July 12, 2012 at 09:25 pm
Yeah, that would be cool: Swedish Medieval. Too bad it doesn't look like a castle from the outside.
I think what it reminded me of was when I went to Medieval Times in Orlando. He could be having some jousting and royal feasts in there.

FYI: MLS real estate listings are public.
Michigan Voter July 13, 2012 at 02:02 am
I find it amazing that some of my incredibly affluent neighbors in Novi can be so rich and not know that real estate listings are public.
The story cites the realtor who made the information public to sell the house. What did you expect them to do? Keep it a secret?
John McKay (Editor) July 13, 2012 at 02:23 am
As the other two commenters noted, the real estate listing was public and available on AOL Real Estate, which shares ownership with Patch. We'll routinely highlight unique real estate listings and house closings. The information accompanying the photos was provided by the realtor who sold the house, who did not disclose the buyer.
As far as privacy goes, some sellers do prefer to not include photos with public listings and this was not the case here. Many already knew what the Lidstrom family's house looked like from an NHL.com documentary series that detailed the life of Nicklas at home and on the rink.

Ownership is public record also. All deeds are filed with the County (including purchase price and date, original mortgage amount, lienholder, etc...). If the owner is a "Corporation", the Corporate papers (Officers) are also public record.
Congrat's on the sale Nick!
Mary Ann Blakeley July 13, 2012 at 01:21 pm
Yes, MLS...is public...Not the fiduciary trust of the seller. that trust has been breached with this article....The deal has not closed, so there is no deal until closing, the info about they did not get the 2.9 mill they were asking, and the fact it is a cash deal, This Realtor will be turned into the board for his breach of fiduciary trust to the seller.
Mary Ann Blakeley July 13, 2012 at 01:27 pm
Not until the deal closes, how would you like it if your house deal feel through and every one knows you did not get full price. This is a fiduciary breach of trust to the seller....telling the public , they know now they can get the house for cheaper, because the offer ahead of them was lower.
christine2 July 13, 2012 at 02:06 pm
I'll bet it's a surprise to the neighborhood that that is the most expensive home in there. Ha. That realtor not only is unethical he also is a liar. Anything to get some publicity.
Mary Ann Blakeley July 13, 2012 at 02:55 pm
Please put Christines !st comment back on. Her comment was right on and the most factual and appropriate.

What happened to christine2 1st comment ? It was factual and right on...The public deserves to know the truth...
christine2 July 13, 2012 at 03:04 pm
Sure a MLS is public. However, is the name of the person who owns the home? Especially one of the BEST hockey players ever? I don't think so. That realtor deserves for his license to be taken away. Not only did he give confidentiality of the homeowners away BEFORE the deal was done! He also told the nation the new owners paid cash BEFORE the deal was done! Check the dates people. And who are any of you out there to rip on Nick and Annika's taste in decor? They are some of the nicest, most gentle, sincere people you could ever hope to know. If the deal went thru or goes thru he deserves ZERO commission and owes it to the Lidstrom family for what he has done. Oh, and by the way...it is liDstrom NOT liNDstrom to you out there wanting to rip on their home.
Bryan Bentley July 13, 2012 at 03:08 pm
Ms. Blakeley,
It is no great shock when we in Michigan hear that someone didn't get the full price they were asking for in the sale of their home. LOL
Mary Ann Blakeley July 13, 2012 at 03:36 pm
Mr.Bentley...Because it is a breach of fiduciary trust to the seller before a home actually closes to post the information that the seller did not get full price. If the deal falls through, everyone knows the 1st offer was lower than asking..It is unethical by any Realtor to do so. I know I am a Realtor
Bryan Bentley July 13, 2012 at 04:54 pm
Ms. Blakeley,
I'm not gonna dispute what you are saying, but it just seems to me that you are kind of giving more life to that part of the story with your repeated comments about it. If it was me, and I was concerned about the ethics issue, and concerned about the publicity regarding the price, I would probably just report the real estate agent I felt was breaching the trust, but keep quiet about the price, and all the other stuff. By making a big fuss about it, more people actually see the info, and as you have said, that could hurt the very person you are trying to protect. But what the heck do I know, I am not a real estate agent...
Mary Ann Blakeley July 13, 2012 at 05:15 pm
Mr. Bentley if you would have read my previous comment about 6 comments ago, You would have never made your comment...I am just trying to let the public know that until a deal is actually closed you never let out any information about the offer. I am a 30 year Real Estate Agent, Licensed in several states.
G-Money July 13, 2012 at 05:45 pm
Can't we all just get along?
And I like the Swedish/Medieval idea. I prefer darker woods in my own house. It does cost more for darker woods however, and thats probably why you don't see it more often.
Bryan Bentley July 13, 2012 at 06:06 pm
Ha Ha I shall bite my tongue from here on G-Money if ya promise to scream my name the next Home Run you hit. ;) Getting back to the subject, I love the house!
Haulin T Male September 3, 2012 at 01:10 pm
I agree, it is a show place not a home, but then again, I could not afford the taxes on it........ lol
Haulin T Male September 3, 2012 at 01:18 pm
Of course Mary ann, don't need tp gp off on a tangent, the reason these guys come over here, cause they can't make the $$$ over there...... he will be in some sort of Scandinavian castle, No one said he couldn't, so far from what I read every one kept it to the house, it does lack color for me........ at least just one room could be different...... basically I say the inside matched his personality, low key,.
Haulin T Male September 3, 2012 at 01:27 pm
It does not mean the agent breached any thing does it, there are a few ways of things getting out, aren't there. Matter of fact I just looked up the final price and taxes on it.
I like the post below, only thing lacking is a jousting arena, has nothing to do with Hawkey......... just having a comment on the house........ I am sure he enjoyed it
Haulin T Male September 3, 2012 at 01:54 pm
I am an American, this is my Country, that is who I am, WHO are you to take my Const. rights away, when some one walks from some thing it is no holds bar, freedom of speech. God even has a lot of opinions said about him. I live close to where Shanny use to live in B'ham, in his Little Yellow house with the sweet little White Picket Fence around it, Brendan, is the only NHL player that scored over 600 goals and had 2489 Penalty Minutes, for fighting........ little yellow house and picket fence, he got ripped by his teammates, media . for leading two lives. lol when the CUP spent the night there...........
