Novi Walmart Opens Wednesday

Novi's new will open in on Wednesday at 8 a.m. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 7:30 a.m. with community and business leaders.

The 153,00 square-foot store was constructed over the past year and will be open 24 hours, seven days a week. The Supercenter is expected to .

The store includes a full line of groceries including a bakery, deli, fresh produce, beer and wine. The Walmart also will have apparel and accessories, a garden center, health and beauty aids, an electronics department, pharmacy and photo center. 

According to a press release, the store will incorporate the company's new store layout.

“The layout of the store is easy to navigate, which will save our customers time as they shop for everyday necessities,” said Novi Manager Aaron Quimby in a statement. “By grouping the products that our customers most often purchase, including health and beauty and pet supplies, we are making one-stop shopping even easier.”

Walmart and the Walmart Foundation will also be presenting $17,000 in grants to to community organizations. Recipients include the following:

• Food Bank of Novi
• Farmington YMCA
• Novi Rotary Club
• Novi Farmers Market
• Novi Sizzling Summer Art Series
• Novi Youth Assistance Program
