Strip Mall to Replace Novi Big Boy Restaurant

Big Boy on Novi Road has closed for business to make way for a new development.

After decades of serving customers in Novi, the Big Boy on Novi Road has closed its doors for business.

The restaurant officially closed a little more than a month ago to make way for a new strip mall development in that area.

According to Novi Economic Development Director Ara Topouzian, the strip mall will have three to four retail outlets, one of which will probably be a restaurant. The center will be approximately 10,000 square feet with parking behind the building.

Topouzian said the owner of the center is waiting to finalize the tenants before beginning demolition and construction.

A sign on the doors of Big Boy thanks its customers for their support over the years and directs them to visit its other nearby locations: Haggerty Road and Eight Mile Road in Novi and N. Pontiac Trail and E. West Maple Road in Walled Lake.
