Fox Run's Continuing Care Earns Top CMS Rating

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has given the Continuing Care neighborhood at Fox Run retirement community its highest Five-Star Quality Rating.

CMS created a Five-Star Quality Rating System to help consumers, their families, and caregivers compare nursing homes more easily and to help identify areas about which people may want to ask questions.  It contains quality of care information on every Medicare and Medicaid-certified nursing home in the country, including more than 17,000 nationwide.

The Continuing Care neighborhood at Fox Run excelled in Health Inspections, Quality Measures and Staffing for an Overall rating of 5 stars.

“We are delighted about Fox Run’s 5-Star rating and will continue to work hard to maintain and improve our quality,” he said.  The Continuing Care neighborhood at Fox Run has 44 assisted living units and 88 skilled nursing beds.

The Nursing Home Compare Web site (http://www.medicare.gov/nursinghomecompare/search.html) features the quality rating system that gives each nursing home a rating of between 1 and 5 stars.  Nursing homes with 5 stars are considered to have much above average quality and nursing homes with 1 star are considered to have quality much below average.

There is one Overall 5-star rating for each nursing home, and a separate rating for each of the following three sources of information:  Health Inspections, Staffing and Quality Measures.
