MICHAEL BARRY JOINS WELLS FARGO ADVISORS AS FINANCIAL ADVISOR, VICE PRESIDENT - INVESTMENTS

Wells Fargo Advisors announces an expansion of its financial team to include specialized institutional expertise with new hire Michael Barry, who will serve as Financial Advisor and  Vice President - Investments.

Barry has 30 years of experience in the financial industry advising mid-sized endowments, foundations, municipalities, corporate working capital and pension plans. His responsibilities will include creating and evaluating investment policy statements, understanding risk profile and investment objectives, determining appropriate asset allocation and providing portfolio guidance to help clients reach financial goals.

Prior to joining Wells Fargo Advisors, Barry spent 30 years with JP Morgan and its predecessor companies in Michigan in a variety of roles and most recently as Client Portfolio Manager and Client Advisor. As Client Portfolio Manager, Barry worked with more than 250 institutional client relationships in 15 states, representing $8 billion in assets invested in multiple asset classes. In addition, he worked as a Client Advisor for nearly 75 endowment, foundation, university, health care, insurance and public and private retirement plan relationships.

Barry has a Master’s Degree in finance from Wayne State University, and a Bachelor’s Degree in business administration from Michigan State University. He has been an active member of the Council on Foundations, Council of Michigan Foundations (CMF), Detroit Area Grantmakers (DAG) and Michigan Association of Public Employment Retirement Systems (MAPERS).  Currently, he is actively involved with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society as a Fundraiser with their Team in Training endurance athlete program.

He resides in Novi with his wife, RoxAnne and two daughters, Bailey, 16 and Riley, 13.
