1. The weather

Today will be sunny with a high of 79 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Tonight will be partly cloudy with a low of 59. Saturday will be partly sunny with a high of 81 degrees.

2. Gas prices

According to DetroitGasPrices.com, the lowest reported gasoline price in the Novi area as of late Thursday was $3.75 per gallon at the Speedway on Novi Road near 10 Mile Road and at the Speedway on Pontiac Trail near Beck Road.

3. Football is here!

Both and varsity football have their first football games of the season tonight. Novi will be playing Chelsea at 8 p.m. at Eastern Michigan University for the Big Day Prep Showdown, and CC will be playing Fordson High School in Dearborn at 7 p.m.

4. Concert in Fuerst Park

Tonight marks the end of Novi's Sizzling Summer Art Series with a performance by The Groove Council - Motown Band in at 8 p.m. Admission is free.

5. Gem & Jewelry Show

This weekend, is hosting the International Gem & Jewelry Show. Hours are noon to 6 p.m. today, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $8 and parking costs $5.
