1. The weather

Today there is a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 2 p.m., according to the National Weather Service. Otherwise, it will be partly sunny with a high of 89. Tonight will be mostly cloudy with a low of 67, and tomorrow will be mostly sunny with a high of 89.

2. Gas prices

The lowest reported gasoline price in the Novi area as of late Thursday is still $3.74 per gallon at the Speedway on Pontiac Trail and Beck Road, according to DetroitGasPrices.com.

3. Family concert in the park

Novi's Sizzling Summer Art Series continues tonight with a performance by singer-songwriter Jill Jack at 8 p.m. in . Admission is free.

4. Novi Ice Arena open house

The will host its customer appreciation open house from 6-9 p.m. today. There will be free hot dogs from 6-8 p.m., free open skating and lessons from 5-6:30 p.m., a figure skating exhibition from 6:30-7 p.m. and free hockey instruction from 7-9 p.m. Admission is free.
