Novi Chamber Launches Apple Trail Photo Contest

Each week, find the apple at its secret location and take a photo with it for a chance to win prizes.

I spy with my little eye ... a giant apple?

That's the idea behind the 's new photo contest, where residents are encouraged to search for a 4-foot ceramic apple hidden somewhere in Novi.

The apple moves to a new location each week—thanks to help from Two Men & A Truck Wixom—and the first three people to find it, snap a photo with it and email the photo to the chamber win a prize.

First prize each week is a $50 gift card to Carrabba's, and the second and third prizes are $10 gift certificates to the Novi Farmers' Market.

The apple goes back to its home at the Farmers' Market in every Saturday. It was put on by the Detroit Eastern Market to promote farmers' markets and the apple industry.

Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Linda Daly said the chamber decided to have a photo contest to further promote the market and have some fun.

The photo contest began this week and will run for three more weeks. Residents who attend the Novi Farmers' Market on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. can pick up a flier for a clue as to where the apple will be the following week.
