Novi ranks third in metro Detroit for the number of residential building permits pulled in 2012, according to The Detroit News.
Permits being pulled are an indicator of future homebuilding — and additional tax dollars coming into the city.
In 2012, there were 230 residential building permits issued in Novi, according to The Detroit News.
From 2000 to 2012, there were 2,655 permits pulled, placing Novi in fourth place metro Detroit, following Shelby Township in third with 2,875 permits, Canton Township in second with 3,331 and Macomb Township with 8,960.
