Top Things to Do This Weekend: July 29-31
Consider going to a Friday concert in Fuerst Park or the Novi Ice Arena open house.
1. Listen to music in the park
Jill Jack will play a concert Friday night at 8 in as part of Novi's Sizzling Summer Art Series. Admission is free.
2. Shop at the Farmers' Market
Check out the Novi Farmers' Market at its in Fuerst Park Saturday from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. The market features live music, produce, art, flowers and other wares. Admission is free.
3. Ice skate for free
is hosting an open house Friday night from 6-9. Admission is free and there will be free hot dogs for the first two hours, raffle prizes and pro shop specials. Scheduled events include the folowing:

- "Give Hockey a Try" clinic from 6-7 p.m.
- Free open skate and lessons from 5-6:30 p.m.
- Pictures with the Zamboni 5-6:30 p.m.
- Figure skating exhibition 6:30-7 p.m.
- Free sticks and pucks and hockey instruction 7-9 p.m.
4. Take me out to the ballgame
Catch a ballgame any day this weekend from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. as Novi hosts the 2011 Amateur Softball Association Northern National Girls 14 and Under Class B Fastpitch Championship tournament. An adult day pass is $7, and day passes for children 6-12 cost $4.
5. Jam out to Camp Rock
Forever After Productions presents Camp Rock:The Musical this weekend at Canton's . The performance is based on the Disney Channel Original Movies Camp Rock and Camp Rock 2. Shows are Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased online or by calling 734-394-5300.
