Enjoy the kickoff of fall with a at , sponsored by the city of Novi. The fun kicks off at 6 p.m. Friday, with three hours of outdoor activities including crafts, music, geocaching, a climbing wall, hikes and marshmallow roasting. Cost is $3 per person for Friday night or $35 for a family to camp overnight.

The Novi High School Band Boosters invite the public to come see Fanfare Fun for the Family on Saturday at . The Band Boosters are hosting this marching band competition—their biggest annual fundraiser—in the football stadium, unless rain dictates it being moved into the school. Admission is $6.

The city of Novi is holding a citywide open house on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the . Refreshments will be served and residents can meet police and fire department personnel, see demonstrations, enjoy kids' activities and games, meet with members of community organizations and enjoy a fun run and bike ride, which begins at 10 a.m.

The Alliance of Rouge Communities and the city of Novi are holding a one-day rain barrel and compost pin sale 11 a.m. Saturday at the . Barrels cost $60 and hold 55 gallons of water. Compost bins cost $50.

The annual Maybury corn maze season kicks off this weekend, running Saturday and Sunday each week until Nov. 6. Come to the farm for cider, doughnuts, the corn maze with a wagon ride to the field and a new playground for the kids to enjoy. Visit the animals on the farm during daytime hours, too. Cost is $8.
