What's Happening in Novi This Week: Dec. 19-25

Community events

City Council meeting

The Novi City Council meets Monday at 7 p.m. in City Hall. You can view the agenda on the city's website.

Addicted to Fun, Flips and Tumbles ... Not Drugs

Drop your children off for a morning of fun at Mega Fun & Fitness from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday. Children in kindergarten through sixth grade can enjoy the trampoline, obstacle course, foam pits and gymnastics races. The event is put on by the Novi Youth Council and the , and proceeds will benefit drug education for the schools. Cost is $10 per child, which includes unlimited supervised tumbling, a T-shirt and lunch

Novi Public Library free events

• On Monday elementary school students can play with Legos at the library from 6-6:45 p.m.

• On Tuesday children in kindergarten through third grade can stop by for craft time from 3-4 p.m. 

• On Thursday youths can watch the movie Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, rated PG, from 1-3 p.m.

Sports schedule

Novi High School

The boys and girls bowling teams take on Wayne Memorial Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. at Novi Bowl.

The boys swim & dive team takes on Hartland at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Skyline High School.

The boys varsity wrestling team faces Pickney at Pathfinder Middle School at 9 a.m. Thursday. 

Catholic Central High School

The JV Blue Hockey team faces Brother Rice Wednesday at 4:15 p.m. at Oak Park Ice Arena.

Varsity hockey also plays Brother Rice Wednesday at Oak Park Ice Arena at 6:15 p.m.

The Varsity Blue Wrestling team competes against Rockford, Grand Haven and Hesperia at Rockford High School Wednesday at 5 p.m.

The Varsity C Wrestling team has an all-day tournament at Linden High School Friday.

City offices closed for Christmas

The Novi , recycling center and will be closed Dec. 23-26 for the holidays. The will be closed from Dec. 24-26.

Schools on winter break

are on break this week and next for winter vacation. Classes resume Jan. 3.
