What's Happening in Novi This Week: Jan. 30-Feb. 5

Community events

• 7 Habits Leader in Me Night: Parents of students in grades K-6 are invited to learn more about the 7 Habits initiative in Novi Community Schools at an informational meeting Monday from 6:30-8:15 p.m. in the cafeteria. 
• School bullying discussion: Parents are invited to have coffee with Novi Schools Superintendent Dr. Steve Matthews Tuesday to discuss bullying in the schools. The event will be in the Media Forum at 6 p.m.
• Charity hockey game: Novi police and firefighters will face off against doctors in the 4th annual "In a Heartbeat" charity hockey game at Compuware Ice Arena Saturday at 4:30 p.m. Cost is a $4 donation to the Providence Heart Institute in Novi.

Novi Community Schools weekly sports schedule

Here's some of the highlights of Novi's home games this week:

• The varsity hockey team plays Brighton at Monday at 6:30 p.m. 
• On Tuesday, all the boys and girls basketball teams play South Lyon. The girls will be playing at home, with varsity playing at 7 p.m.
• The boys swim & dive team has a match against South Lyon East at home Thursday at 6 p.m.
• On Friday, all the boys and girls basketball teams play Northville. The girls will be playing at home, with varsity playing at 7 p.m.
• The varsity cheer team competes in the KLAA Association Cross Over at home Saturday beginning at 10 a.m.

Catholic Central High School weekly sports schedule

Here are some of the highlights for CC sports this week:

• The basketball teams play UofD Friday at home, with varsity playing at 7:30 p.m.
• Varsity hockey takes on Wyandotte Roosevelt Saturday at Compuware Ice Arena at 7 p.m.
