Fox Run Presents Novi Candidate Forum

The candidate forum is open to anyone who wants to attend.

There are a total of nine candidates who will be on the ballot next month in Novi: three for mayor and six for city council.

Novi's Fox Run Retirement Community organized a candidate forum from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 17 for all nine candidates to present their campaign platforms to the community.

"Our goal is completely informational, completely nonpartisan," said Marilyn Ratner, member of the Residents Advisory Council Political Awareness Committe (RAC PAC), which organized the event.

She said the candidates' speeches and responses will be timed. Candidates for city council will start the evening and have five minutes each to speak, followed by a 15 minute session for questions from the audience. Then the mayoral candidates will each have five minutes to speak, followed by another 15 minute session for questions. She said questions will be limited to Fox Run residents.

"It is open to anyone who wants to attend," Ratner said.

The forum will be held in the Belmont Club House at Fox Run, 41000 West 13 Mile Road. A half-hour long reception and meet-and-greet with the candidates will follow the forum in the nearby Derby Room.

"It's for attendees to talk as they may wish with the candidates," she said.

The candidates are:

For mayor
Mayor Bob Gatt
Joseph Peter Samona
Jason George Wellington Dorsch

For city council
Justin Fischer
Andrew I. Mutch
Alexander M. Fera
Gwen Markham
Dennis O'Connor
Jonathan Montville
