You Decide: Novi 2013 Candidate Guide

Novi's city council may get a shake-up after next month's elections.

There are a total of nine candidates who will be on the ballot Nov. 5: three running for mayor and six running for three city council seats.

Mayor Bob Gatt, who was elected in 2011, is vying to keep his spot from new candidates Jason George Wellington Dorsch and Joseph Peter Samona. Voters will choose three city council members from these candidates: Councilman Justin Fischer, Councilman Andrew I. Mutch, Alexander M. Fera, Gwen Markham, Jonathan Montville and Novi school board president Dennis O'Connor. 

The mayor position is a two-year commitment, while council members serve for four years.
