FIRST Tech Challenge State Championships

Novi Robotics (NBot) is proud of our five Novi Middle School FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) Teams for their performances at the East Michigan Regional events in Temperance and Hartland over the past 2 weeks. Their performances have qualified them for the East Michigan State Championship, to be held Saturday December 15 at Discovery Middle School, 45083 Hanford Road, Canton Michigan. Doors open at 7:00am, qualifying matches begin at 11:00am, elimination matches and awards ceremony begin at approximately 4:00pm. 

The winner of the Inspire Award at the East Michigan Championship will advance to the FIRST World Championship at the Edward Jones Dome in St Louis Missouri on April 24-27 2013.

At FTC events, robots compete in randomly selected two team alliances during qualifying matches. After qualifying, the top 4 teams pick their alliance partners to compete in best 2 of 3 elimination matches. 
Teams are also interviewes by a panel of judges for the Inspire, Think, Connect, Motivate, PTC Design, Rockwell Collins Innovate and Judges awards. These awards reward outstanding performance in various aspects of the FTC program. The Inspire award goes to the team that best represents FTC thru their robot performance, community outreach, engineering, and gracious professionalism.
FTC is part of the FIRST family of programs that promotes STEM education from 1st thru 12th grades in the Junior FIRST Lego League (Jr. FLL), FIRST LEGO League (FLL), FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) and FIRST Robotics Challenge (FRC).
