Take a look at the new additions to the Novi Library Teen Space

It can be a bit of a drag at times after sitting in class all day focusing on coursework to then find yourself in the library having to focus on homework or quietly pass the time.  Everyone needs a moment to decompress, relax, and talk to your friends.  That’s why this past October; we created the Novi Public Library “Teen Space.”   Each Monday-Thursday, the library’s Meeting Room is open from 2-5 pm for students in Grades 7-12 to hang out and unwind from their school day. 

Recently, thanks to a generous donation by the Novi Youth Assistance that was matched by our director Julie Farkas we have been able to add some new furniture and games to the space.  In addition to new chairs and board games, we’ve got our hands on a ping pong table and an Xbox 360 complete with Kinect.  Those who come to the “Teen Space” will also have the opportunity to connect an mp3 player to our sound system and kick out the jams.

So whether you’re bored and looking for a way to pass the time or you just need a moment to let loose and talk to your friends the “Teen Space” is the perfect place to go.
