1 House Burglary, 2 House Break-Ins Reported in Chase Farms

The following information was provided by the Novi Police Department.

One Novi resident reported her home was burglarized and two others reported attempted burglaries at their homes in Chase Farms subdivision on Jan. 30, according to Novi police reports.

A woman called the Novi police after she arrived home to her parents' house on Dukesbury Court at 9 p.m. to find a window in the kitchen open and damaged, the report said. Police officers arrived at the house and found that the front door was open, the report said. The woman said she was positive that the door was locked when she left and that she seldom uses it, the report said.

The woman saw that many of the drawers in several of the rooms had been opened and searched. She believes that five watches and money were taken from the home, the report said. Several electronic items and other valuables were left in the home, the report said.

Earlier that night, police were dispatched to two homes on Reindeer Drive from reports that the houses' alarms had been set off.

Just before 7 p.m., police were dispatched to a home and found that the metal frame of the rear sliding door had small damage to it, the report said. At 7 p.m., police were dispatched to another home on Reindeer. At first, police could not find any damage, the report said. The homeowners' son-in-law then arrived and was able to check the alarm pad on the home; it indicated that the dining room window alarm had been triggered, the report said. Police checked the window and noticed some pry marks, which were consistent with the pry marks found on the other house on Reindeer Drive.

Police do not have any suspects or witnesses for any of the crimes.
