2 Killed in Novi Mobile Home Fire

Two Novi residents in their 70s were pronounced deceased after being pulled from a fire Thursday morning.

At approximately 8:30 a.m., the Novi Fire Department responded to a 911 call regarding a fire in the Novi Meadows mobile home community located near the intersection of Napier Road and Grand River Avenue.

Responding Fire Department personnel arrived to find an active residential structure fire in the 26000 block of Indiana. Upon entry into the home, officers located a 79-year-old male and 73-year-old female, both of whom were unconscious. The victims were transported to Providence Park Hospital in Novi where they were pronounced deceased. No other injuries were reported.

The Novi Fire Department advised the fire is under control and received assistance from the Lyon Township Fire Department. The fire is under investigation by the Novi Police and Fire Departments, in partnership with the Oakland County Sherriff’s Office.
