71-Year-Old Novi Woman Charged with Stealing from Barnes & Noble
Quilting magazines were among the items found in the woman's bag.

Northville Township police arrested a 71-year-old Novi woman Dec. 6 on charges of stealing from Barnes & Noble, according to a police report.
The woman walked around the store, 17111 Haggerty Road, selecting books and magazines for sale while placing them inside a tote bag, which also was for sale, the report said.

She wandered the store, sat down in the coffee area to read and then tried to exit the store without paying, according to the report. Loss prevention officers stopped her.
Among the items the woman had in the bag were magazines American Patchwork and Quilting and Quilters Newsletter, the report said.

The officer arrested her, and she has a hearing Dec. 18, according to the report.
