Car Runs Over Tree, Landscape Lights at Twelve Oaks Mall

The following information was supplied by the Novi Police Department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

A man reported that an unknown person ran over an ornamental tree and four landscape lights outside of Nordstrom at Twelve Oaks Mall on Sept. 15 around 2:30 a.m., according to a police report. Video shows two subjects in the car driving recklessly through the lot, leaving the area of Tin Fish at closing time, the report said. After the individuals appeared to urinate in the parking lot and drive away, they drove back, running over the $500 tree and the lights, the report said.

The car then continued to the east side of the lot, where the driver stopped, checked any damage, then left, dragging the tree behind the vehicle, the report said. There were a number of skid marks in the area showing that individuals were spinning tires and doing donuts in parking lot prior to hitting the tree, the report said. The video was not clear enough to identify the suspects or the car, the report said.
