Car Stolen From Novi Best Buy Parking Lot

The following information was provided by the Novi Police Department.

An employee of the Novi Best Buy in West Oaks reported that his car was stolen from the store's parking lot on Dec. 28, according to a Novi police report.

The employee said when he arrived at work, he put his car keys in the pocket of his coat, which he put in the unlocked employee break room at 6 p.m., the report said. At 9:30 p.m., he went to retrieve his coat so he could get shopping carts from the parking lot. While outside, he noticed that his keys were not in his pocket, the report said. He then noticed that his car, a Chevrolet Monte Carlo, was not in the lot, the report said.

The employee informed his manager, and they reviewed the surveillance video, the report said. The video showed two young males enter the store and walk toward the break room, the report said. One of the men went into the room, while another paced in front of the room, appearing to keep watch, the report said. The video then shows the two exiting the store, getting into the employee's car and leaving, the report said. The car was parked directly in front of the store at the back of the parking lot, the report said. Novi police have entered the car as stolen, the report said.
