Crime Report: Tires, Rims Stolen Off Car at Dealership

A sales manager reported that the rims and tires were stolen off of a Jeep Cherokee at the Suburban Chrysler Jeep Dodge Dealership on Haggerty Road over the weekend of Aug. 4-6, according to a police report. The manager said the car was parked in the main lot of the dealership and the tires were intact on Saturday evening, but the car was found sitting on blocks Monday morning, the report said. The total value of the rims and tires are more than $2,000, the report said. The police do not have any suspects, the report said.

Catalytic converter stolen

A Commerce resident reported that the catalytic converter was stolen from her Buick Rendezvous while it was parked at Ruby Tuesday in Novi on Aug. 7, according to a police report. The woman said she parked the car at the restaurant at 5:30 p.m. and went to the Tigers game. When she returned and started to drive away around 11 p.m., she noticed the converter was missing, the report said. The converter is estimated to cost $966 to replace, the report said. The parking lot does not have any security cameras and the case has been closed, the report said.

Car windshield cracked

A man reported that his car windshield was cracked on the night of Aug. 2-3, according to a police report. His car was parked on the street in front of his residence on Hollydale, the report said. The police report said the windshield had 5-7 cracks in the upper side corner, all of which originated from one dent in the windshield as if it was struck by a punch-type of instrument, the report said. The police do not have any evidence or suspects, the report said.
