Give Your Unwanted Drugs to Novi Police

The Drug Take-Back Day prevents prescription pills from getting into the wrong hands.

National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in Novi.

The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and Novi police organized the event at Novi Police Headquarters, 45125 West Ten Mile Road.

“The Novi Police Department is dedicated to keeping our community safe and drug free. Ensuring medications are properly disposed of lowers the risk of our youth abusing drugs and senior citizens using expired medication. I encourage everyone to take an hour to clean out your medicine cabinet – it may save a life,” said Novi’s Director of Public Safety and Chief of Police David E. Molloy in a news release.

The service is free and anonymous, with no questions asked.

Unwanted prescription drugs can be disposed at Novi police headquarters seven days a week, 24 hours a day. All drugs turned in will ultimately be sent to the DEA for destruction.
