Empty beer kegs stolen from restaurant

The manager at on Haggerty Road reported that several empty beer kegs were stolen from the restaurant between 9 p.m. on April 1 and 9 a.m. on April 2, according to a police report. Sometime overnight, a person gained access to the exterior storage cage attached to the rear of the restaurant and took 3-4 empty beer kegs and 3-4 cases of empty returnable bottles, the report said.

The manager said he suspects the same man he caught in the act of attempting to take the kegs last week, the report said. Police had advised the manager to move the kegs to the rear of the cage out of site, but it didn’t work, the report said. According to the police report, the subject gained entry to cage by reaching through the fencing and turning the door handle. After the empties were stolen, the manager had a section of the gate welded to block a suspect from sticking a hand through the fence next to the handle, the report said. According to the police report, the police do not have any evidence or video surveillance, but extra patrol will be provided in the area.
