Minivan, Motorcycles Stolen from Woodland Glen Apartments

The following information was provided by the Novi Police Department.

A minivan and two motorcycles were stolen from the parking lots of Woodland Glen apartments off Eight Mile Road in between Meadowbrook and Novi roads, according to Novi police reports.

A man who had been in Florida since Dec. 29 reported on Jan. 20 that his 2006 Kawasaki motorcycle had been stolen, according to a Novi police report. The man said the handlebars were locked and the battery was taken out before he left, the report said.

Another man reported his 2003 Kawasaki motorcycle was stolen sometime between 2:30 p.m. on Jan. 19 and 8 p.m. on Jan. 20, according to another police report. The man said it had been covered and parked in the car port, but not secured. Police did not find any evidence, witnesses or suspects, the report said.

A woman reported that her 1999 Chrysler minivan was stolen from the car port near her building sometime between 6 p.m. on Jan. 20 and 11:15 a.m. on Jan. 22, according to a Novi police report. The woman said the car was locked and she still had both sets of keys, the report said. Neither she nor the police had any suspects, the report said. When the officer checked for the car in the police system, he saw that it had been impounded by the Detroit Police. The woman said she would have a friend take her to Detroit to get the car back, the report said.

According to one of the police reports, it was possible that the stolen van was used to load up and steal the motorcycles.
