Police Release Sketch of Suspect in Jan. 16 Assault

The Farmington Hills police investigation is tied to a similar case in Northville.

Farmington Hills Police on Friday released a sketch of a suspect in the brutal assault on a 42-year-old resident of Village Green Condominium Complex in Farmington Hills on Jan. 16.

The case may be tied to an assault and robbery of a 69-year-old Northville woman earlier on the same day. In the Northville incident, the woman was approached in her driveway by a man asking her to take a survey. The woman was then knocked out and suffered a fractured jaw and a severe head injury. Her purse was also stolen.

Evidence of that crime was recovered in a wooded area between Founders Sports Park and the Green Hill Apartment Complex, which is located in the Eight Mile and Halsted area of Farmington Hills.

In the Farmington Hills incident, the victim was inside the exterior entrance to her building when a man attacked her with a club-like weapon and left her with serious injuries. The building is located in the Eight Mile and Grand River area.

Police are looking for a suspect described as a black male, approximately 35 years of age, 5’10’-6’2’ with a medium build, wearing a beige jacket and blue jeans. The suspect vehicle is described as a light brown, late 1990’s model 4-door Ford Taurus.

Police would like to speak with anyone who saw:

  • Any suspicious persons or activities at Founders Sports Park or Green Hill Apartment Complex between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 16
  • Any suspicious persons or activities at the Village Green Condominium Complex at approximately 10:45 p.m. on Jan. 16, particularly the driver of a white SUV type vehicle that was traveling westbound on Eight Mile in the right curb lane and was almost struck by the suspect vehicle exiting the complex after the crime
