Several Car Windows Smashed in Novi

The following information was supplied by the Novi Police Department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

Several people reported their car windows were smashed in Novi from Oct. 29-31, according to Novi police reports.

On Oct. 29, an officer on patrol noticed a broken window on a locked car parked in the driveway of a residence on Halston Court, according to a police report. The window was believed to be broken out sometime between 1 a.m. and 9 a.m., the report said. The police located the owner, who said his wife's purse had been taken from the car, the report said.

On Oct. 31, a woman reported that her rear passenger side window was shattered on her 2012 Toyota Highlander while it was parked in the carport on Pheasant Run, according to a police report. The woman said it must have happened sometime between 6 p.m. on Oct. 30 and 8 a.m. on Oct. 31, the report said. The car was not entered and no property was stolen. The officer checked the car and found that the window had been struck with a possible BB, which caused it to shatter, the report said.

Also on Oct. 31, a man reported the front side window had been damaged on his 2013 Buick while it was parked in front of his home on Washington Street, according to a police report. The man said it must have happened sometime between 5 p.m. on Oct. 30 and 1 p.m. on Oct. 31, the report said. In the report, the officer said the window had a bullseye break and a long crack, which was probably caused by a BB or a small rock. There was no evidence found.

Another smashed car window on Washington Street was also reported on Oct. 31, according to a police report. The woman said her 2007 Saturn was parked in front of her residence and the damage occured sometime between midnight and 6 a.m., the report said. She said the window was hit with an unkown object and nothing was taken, the report said. She does not have any suspects, the report said.
