Task Force Created Following I-96 Shootings

The recent shootings reported in Wixom, Commerce and along I-96 have prompted an area task force to investigate 16 possible shootings.

Recent shootings reported in Wixom, Commerce and other nearby areas have many local residents on edge.

Livingston County Sheriff Bob Bezotte released a press release last Thursday regarding a vehicle that was hit while travelling on I-96. The incident, where the driver was unharmed, may be connected to as many as 15 other shootings, according to an article from WHMI.

According to an article in the Detroit News, a task force has been formed to find the person responsible for more than 16 reported shootings in the last week.

The article states that an unknown person has been driving around, along Wixom Road and Interstate 96, shooting at cars with a gun.

The Oakland County Sheriff's Office has said they are looking for a vehicle that's dark in color and resembles either a Ford Mustang, Chevy Cavalier, Oldsmobile Alero or Toyota Camry.

The shooter is described as a white male in his 30s.
