Novi Woman Dies in Car Accident on Pontiac Trail

At approximately 1:20 p.m. Tuesday, the received a call advising of a car accident on Pontiac Trail near West Park Drive. Novi Police officers responded to the scene and determined the crash involved an Oldsmobile passenger car and a Dodge Ram pick-up truck.

Preliminary investigation reveals the Oldsmobile, driven by a 34-year-old female from Novi, was traveling west on Pontiac Trail when it struck the Dodge Ram pick-up which was traveling east.

The female, Oldsmobile driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Dodge Ram was driven by a 44-year old, male Waterford resident. He suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Botsford Hospital.

This fatal crash is currently being investigated by accident investigation specialists from the Novi Police Department. The names of the parties involved are being withheld pending notification of immediate family members.
