You've seen the results from the Michigan primary election on Tuesday, but what did the numbers look like in Novi?

Novi voters agreed with the rest of the voters in Oakland, Wayne and Macomb counties and passed the DIA millage.

Novi also followed the rest of the cities in and chose Democrat Syed Taj and Republican Kerry Bentivolio to head to the November election, but the Republican race in Novi was a lot closer than it was overall.

  • 8,238 residents, or 22 percent of registered voters, cast a ballot
  • 5,423 voters, or 66 percent, cast their ballot in person
  • 2,815 voters, or 34 percent, cast an absentee ballot
  • 5,033 voters, or 61 percent, cast a Republican ticket
  • 2,812 voters, or 34 percent, cast a Democratic ticket
  • 393 voters, or 5 percent, cast a non-partisan ticket

  • 2,305 voters, or 50.9 percent, chose
  • 2,225 voters, or 49.1 percent, chose

  • 1,656 voters, or 64 percent, voted for
  • 920 voters, or 36 percent, voted for

  • 5,050 voters, or 64 percent, voted yes to pass the proposal
  • 2,825 voters, or 46 percent, voted no to deny the proposal

  • 4,187 voters, or 54 percent, voted yes to pass the proposal
  • 3,576 voters, or 46 percent, voted no to deny the propsoal
