Seminar Aims to Help Women Become Successful Business Owners

Business leaders from Walsh College, Michigan Women’s Foundation, Huntington Bank and Inforum have collaborated to host Entrepreneur-YOU, a comprehensive event designed to help women become successful business owners.  The all-day event will take place on Wed., Feb. 8 at the Walsh College Troy campus.

Entrepreneur-YOU was created to support any woman with a passion for starting and growing any type of business. “Building a business can be overwhelming at any stage of development,” said Stephanie Bergeron, president and CEO of Walsh. “Women can face unique challenges and opportunities in creating and building their businesses. We are hopeful this day-long event will be a springboard for female entrepreneurs and those attending will leave with the knowledge and confidence to take that next step for their business.”

The workshop will offer meaningful guidance with four tracks to help everyone from those just thinking about becoming an entrepreneur to those already running their own business. Attendees will learn about the resources necessary to open, run and grow a business, and will have the opportunity to connect with like-minded peers and the area’s leading business experts.

The business leaders spearheading this event strongly believe there are many women in Southeast Michigan with significant, unleashed entrepreneurial talent, who have the potential to positively impact and reshape our economic landscape. They include Bergeron; Carolyn Cassin, president of the Michigan Women’s Foundation; Pam Iacobelli, senior vice president and director of marketing for Huntington Bank; and Terry Barclay, president of Inforum.

Tickets to Entrepreneur-YOU are $25 each and include a continental breakfast and buffet lunch. For more information or to register, go to www.TheWalshInstitute.com/EYOU.
