Extreme Cold Closes Novi Schools for Second Day
All buildings are closed and all activities are cancelled.
Winter break gets extended, again.
Schools in the Novi Community School District were closed Monday and will also be closed Tuesday, according to an email from Superintendent Steve M. Matthews Monday morning.
"We have received almost 12 inches of snow. Temperatures on Tuesday morning will be -13 with wind chills between -35 to -40. It is anticipated that the weather will begin to improve after Tuesday," he said in the email.
Walled Lake Schools, South Lyon Community Schools and Northville Public Schools, where Novi residents also attend, are closed Tuesday as well. Detroit Catholic Central High School, in Novi, is also closed Tuesday.
