MSU Tollgate Tour Delights the Senses
MSU Tollgate's open house garden tour on Saturday included vendors and a quilt show.
Michigan State University's annual Tollgate Open House Garden Tour was well attended Saturday morning. Visitors toured 20 different gardens, including those featuring hostas, roses and xeriscapes.
MSU master gardeners were on hand to answer gardening questions and conducted informational presentations and guided tours throughout the day.
The open house featured a quilt show, with the colorful blankets donated for the day by area artisans; a farm stand of vegetables grown on-site by Novi's 4-H youth program and several vendors offering flowering plants, garden art, soaps and gourd art.

At the end of the day, the Tollgate volunteers planned to raffle a beautiful queen-sized handmade quilt. All proceeds benefit the . Quilters and volunteers Cherry Lee Baker, Kathy Coleman, Charlotte Jones, Judy Poole, Kay Pratt and Nancy Rogers worked together to create the quilt.
