Novi Schools Collect Halloween Costumes for Needy

Bridgepointe Novi is asking residents to drop off costumes at three Novi schools.

This year, several Novi schools are teaming up to collect Halloween costumes to donate to students at the Academy of the Americas in Detroit.

Everyone is welcome to donate, and gently used costumes can be dropped off at the following schools through Oct. 10:

  • Deerfield Elementary, 26500 Wixom Road
  • Novi Meadows, 25549 Taft Road
  • Parkview Elementary, 45825 W. 11 Mile Road

The costume drive is organized by Bridgepointe Novi, a non-profit organization based in Detroit.

"The idea is to connect people in the suburbs with people in the city to build relationships," said Shelly Cavazos, Community Service/Bridgepointe Chairperson at Novi Meadows.

Cavazos said they have a goal to collect 100 costumes.
